      @@SuburbanRanch Thank you. Can you give a brief description in a reply of how you did that? 1. Tools used; grinder?, what kind of pads, wire brushes, etc.? 2. Paint/primer used 3. Process used; what were the steps you used to complete that job? I guess you sanded the frame down to the metal and then primed and painted it? If you could take a piece of a frame and go through that briefly in a video it would be extremely helpful! A lot of us are dealing with significant rust on the frame.

    • @SuburbanRanch
      @SuburbanRanch День назад

      @davidschmitt3030 Our truck wasn’t that rusty (southern truck) so the job wasn’t as bad as yours might be. We used any and all things to scuff and remove debris from the surface. Wire brushes, sanding pads, scrappers. Once it was cleaned and scuffed we followed the directions from the paint manufacturer. We used Rustoleum primer and paint. It was a terrible job and I don’t ever want to do it again!

    I just bought a 1994 Chevy C1500. I changed my oil and it was leaking. I’ve changed a bunch of things out myself, my trans is leaking I’m praying it’s just the pan…. So is there any downside to changing it yourself? Can you detrimentally mess it up?

    Absolute garbage product. I put it on , first coat was fine. Second coat expanded overnight to 1/2" thick and will now need to be chiseled off. Napa makes some lousy products, but this is an entirely new level when you are far worse off then when you started

    I remove the bolts from the studs and upon re-assembling a stud I over torque one of the studs with a 6 mm socket, causing the sump pan housing area to break now I got a replace the sump pan. careful cross threading here because it’s tricky and it’s a tight area.

    great video! just replaced my wifes on her 2010 that blew. Lexus dealer gave us a discount on parts after telling them the situation/year. This shouldve been recalled but oh well.... Video was super helpful. I would recommend pulling more studs if you have clearance issues. Its easy enough to pop them back in. All in I'd say 1hr-2hr job

    Question about AC clutch cycle.. I made R134a conversion with new parts.. (Evaporator is only old part). I also have new R134a pressure switch on dryer. I fill system 8oz PAG150 oil and 2lb R134a refrigerant. System works qnd blows really cold, but clutch cycle is really fast, couple seconds on and couple seconds off.. Is that normal?? Truck is 1990 regular cab with R4 compressor.

    • @SuburbanRanch

      No, sounds like you are tripping the low pressure switch. I’d check with manifold gauges and likely add more refrigerant

    Great video! I am going to dump my oil at 5,000 miles and let them do the oil filter at 10,000 miles. I figure there is no reason the filter needs to be replaced at 5,000 but I don't want to go 10,000 miles between oil changes when I can get oil for like $30.... Juts to confirm, the oil drain plug's torque spec is in ft-lbs and the oil filter housing is in newton meters?

    Hey buddy, I'm after some advice. I have a 1995 K1500 5.7 V8 Suburban, which I've had for 13 years. Now here lies to issue. I live in the UK and the truck has been swapped to right hand drive. And recently my indicators or turn signals should I say are not working, but my hazard light do. Would you be able to shed some light on the issue, its not a fuse and I can not seem to locate the relay for the turn signals. Would you know where this is located as I sure as hell can not find it !! Thanks in advance.

    After the abs system in my 1994 Chevrolet tried to kill me three separate times I bypassed everything and was glad I did. It felt like something was lodged under the brake pedal when I had to apply the brakes quickly. I got the truck in late 1993 and over the course of a few years learned there were braking issues with this vehicle. By late 1997 I had seen enough. The truck is currently getting restored. The ABS system will not be part of the efforts.
